Home Decor Inspiration via Target’s Opalhouse Collection

I am sure many of you have seen the various advertisements and articles about Target’s latest home decor collection, Opalhouse, blasted all over the internet. Needless to say, people have been anticipating the collection and with good reason as it’s quite gorgeous. Personally, I am loving the combination of bold colors, rich fabrics, natural textures, and fun prints.

Target has always been a go-to store for home decor items, but over the past couple of years or so, they have really stepped up their game. From collaborating with interior designers like Nate Berkus and bloggers such as Joy Cho (of Oh Joy!) to producing collections such as Project 62 and now Opalhouse, Target has easily become a source for all things for your home.

This past Sunday’s in-store and online release of Target’s Opalhouse collection is especially awesome for me, as I have been eyeing some items to help finish up my living room. Whoop!

Home Envy: Colorful Kitchens

Have any of y’all noticed that when you look for a new place to live, you can really see housing trends over the years as you go from one place to another?

For some reason, I’ve never been the biggest fan of light wood grain cabinets or even white cabinets as both just seemed kind of “country” to me. I’ve always loved the idea of a darker shade or even a colored cabinet and lucky for me they are trending right now. I also love quartz cabinets but man those are hard to find with my budget! (A girl can dream….)

What do you automatically think of when you envision your dream kitchen? As said previously, I think of quartz cabinets, colored cabinets, lots of counter space, and a double oven to fit my cooking needs.

Happy Spring Equinox!

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

I’m so excited that it’s finally spring!

This morning I had to do start Spring off on the right foot, so I went to Trader Joe’s and picking up a small bouquet. Fresh flowers are just about a must have for me when it’s spring, and I love the prices that Trader Joe’s has, plus the fact that I can grab a bouquet along with a few needed grocery items.

How are y’all celebrating the new season?

Home Envy: Pops of Color

I’ve always gravitated towards rich, earthy tones and black and white photos when it comes to decorating a living area. Exhibit A: My last apartment consisted of a grey couch, chevron fur b/w print throw pillow, Audrey Hepburn b/w throw pillow, a few prints on the wall, and a small side table with a few books laid on top.

I always thought taking a minimalistic approach to design was best. Wrong. It was the safest and required the least amount of thought.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still all about being minimalist; however, my color palette has definitely expanded since I decorated my last apartment.

Adorable Book Nook Spaces

I don’t know why, but recently I’ve been seeing so many pictures of book nooks all over the place. All these pictures make me want to do is make a nice cup of tea, cozy up in a blanket, and get to reading Wicked (i’m so pain stakingly close to finishing!). The weather right now too would also be perfect, as nothing would be as cozy as reading a book while it rains outside. One day, I wish to have some sort of area like those pictured above to enjoy a good book and just relax.

What are some of your home must haves?

I hope y’all have a wonderful and cozy weekend.

Home is where the heart is…

Okay, I admit it. I’m barely a twenty-something and I love HGTV. The idea of making the place where you call home comfy and gorgeous just sounds like a grand idea. I even read the HGTV magazine more than I read Vogue or Glamour (..and that’s saying something).

However, no matter how many times I read the magazine or watch Color Splash, I can never sum up the energy to do something with my tiny bit of space I call home. It’s also hard to do anything about my space when it’s so tiny versus the homes you see them makeover on tv. So I have taken to the internet to see what others have accomplished with their smaller spaces–inspiration time!!

What an adorable and quirky kitchen!!

The thought of a navy tufted sofa (like this one in Glitter Guide’s Emily Henderson feature) makes me giddy–no lie.

Nikki Rappaport’s studio (as featured on The EveryGirl) is the perfect mix of chic and bright and comfy.

So badly do I wish to style my next apartment here in Oregon so I can have this place feel even more like home. Does anybody have any quick (and easy) styling tricks that they’ve tried? Would love to hear them!

As always, have a wonderful day!
