Sweater weather is coming back to H-Town, and oh, am I excited!
It seems like the last time we got cooler weather it only lasted a couple of days, so fingers crossed that we’ll get a least a WEEK of it this time.

With the weather down here going from being in the 40s one day and then the 70s a few days later, it’s hard to figure out what to wear. That is why I love ponchos for bipolar weather!
When the day starts out cold, layer that poncho over a cute shirt and then when it starts to warm up–bye bye poncho! It’s also a great layering piece for when it gets cooler all throughout the day, as it pairs wonderfully with a warm thermal.
Personally, I love this poncho from Anthropologie as the neckline is so lovely, as is the detailing on the bottom and the angled hemline.
I don’t know about y’all but things have been crazy for me lately!
I’ve been busy at work, helping create a marketing campaign for the holiday season, busy at home with slowly getting ready for family to visit, and busy trying to squeeze in time with friends (which unfortunately has been tough).
I hope that everyone has been having a great fall season and know that posts will be more frequent once I get things on lock.
If you’re one to browse the internet semi-endlessly in order to find someone whose style can inspire your closet–look no further than Lucy Hale.
Her outfits can be easily recreated by pieces you more than likely already have in your closet, which is such a good thing, as that doesn’t always happen when recreating a celebrity’s outfit. I also love how she pulls off current trends that you otherwise wouldn’t think a petite woman could, giving petite women like myself a little extra confidence when it comes to trying those trends. (Thanks girl!)

Fall Quinoa Salad with Butternut Squash and Apples
Now that we are in the full first week of November, it is starting to look and feel like Fall here in Texas. I’m talking days where it doesn’t even reach 80+ degrees and where I can actually wear my booties. I know, it’s crazy talk but it’s happening guys.
So, in celebration of Fall finally showing its face, I have a butternut squash sitting in my kitchen ready to be either roasted, baked, or put in a skillet along with some other yummy things. Personally, I’m thinking of going the skillet butternut squash and sausage penne pasta route but who knows what I’ll do with it later this week.

How understatedly chic is this sweater?!
I love the ribbed knit, cute bow, and ashy gray coloring of the sweater. All in all, it’s going to be a classic that can be honestly be paired with just about anything.
There’s something about exploring small towns nearby you and discovering things you’ve never seen before, like the two above murals and a church that’s a part of the Painted Churches of Texas Tour.
I definitely can’t wait until the weather gets cold and becomes what I call ‘adventure weather’, so that I can have more weekends of exploring cool things in my area.
