Cove Palisades, Central OR

IMG_0494 IMG_0495 IMG_0496 IMG_0499 IMG_0501 IMG_0504 IMG_0505 IMG_0506 IMG_0507

This past Saturday was another day out in the field where I was again reminded of just how beautiful Oregon is–specifically Central Oregon. What is known as the Cove Palisades consists of volcanic ash and river deposit formations which are separated by the Crooked River and the Deschutes River.

The Cove Palisades, located in the Deschutes Basin area, are an incredible example of geology and definitely just another reason to visit Central Oregon. Though it’s hard to not want to explore and visit Central Oregon with great places such as Smith Rock and Crater Lake along with the great town of Bend, which is home to many a microbrewery.

Top 5 Lip Shades for spring

Top 5 Lip Shades for spring--2015

Now that spring has been starting to show her face here in Oregon, my wardrobe has started to explode with variations of color (even pink!). My favorite way to show off color, though, is through lip color.

Recently I’ve just been going out with an almost sans-makeup face as all I’ll put on is a coat of mascara and my current lip color. It’s honestly such a nice change as my skin feels lighter and less greasy without all of it. I especially love that since doing so, my skin has gotten even clearer. That in itself is a huge perk.

Hope y’alls weather is just as nice!

What Kind of Man

Florence + The Machine’s video for their latest single, “What Kind of Man”, is immensely gritty and I love it.

While touching on dramatic topics, including that of love and the pain it can inflict, the video imagery is so impactful in combination with the refrain “What kind of man loves like this?”.

What I love most is the reality of the lyrics, such as “Sometimes you’re half in and then you’re half out” and “You could never make you mine”, and how relatable they are. The love that she describes and portrays isn’t one of fantasy that is seemingly unattainable, but it’s a type of love and relationship that many of us deal with day in and day out.

“What Kind of Man” sets a large precedent for the rest of their album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, which will be released on June 2nd, and I’m more than certain that the rest will be as thought-provokingly emotional.

Spring Transition Style Inspiration–Valentina Siragusa’s Soft Neutrals

Spring Transition Style Inspiration: Valentina Siragusa

I’ve always been a fan of blush tones. There’s something understatedly feminine about them and a blush piece can be easily paired with just about anything as blush tones are also quite universal.

And in the words of Pop Sugar, these tones are the perfect style inspiration for Spring a la Valentina Siragusa and her Paris Fashion Week outfit.

Happy Monday!
