This past Saturday was another day out in the field where I was again reminded of just how beautiful Oregon is–specifically Central Oregon. What is known as the Cove Palisades consists of volcanic ash and river deposit formations which are separated by the Crooked River and the Deschutes River.
The Cove Palisades, located in the Deschutes Basin area, are an incredible example of geology and definitely just another reason to visit Central Oregon. Though it’s hard to not want to explore and visit Central Oregon with great places such as Smith Rock and Crater Lake along with the great town of Bend, which is home to many a microbrewery.
