“Maps” is by far my favorite song by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The line “they don’t love you like I love you” gets me every time and Karen O’s voice is just amazing. I hope y’all will enjoy this song as much as I have.

I will be moving into a new apartment in a few months and I’m honestly so ecstatic about the new decorating possibilites that already am I looking for some new things. Personally, one of the best parts about being out on my own these past few years is getting stuff for my apartment. I love going to Target, Williams & Sonoma, and Crate & Barrel just to browse in their home goods and kitchen sections. Sometimes it even gets so ridiculous (in other’s minds, mind you, not mine) that I get excited looking at standing mixers. I still haven’t really found an exact “style”; however, I do know that I love quirky and bohemian pieces and comfort is always key too.
Below are some of my current favorites….

Not only does Florence Welch look like a goddess, but she also has such an angelic voice that can be just as soft as powerful. No matter what mood I am in, Florence can have me feeling amazing in no time quick.Â
I really don’t want to sound pretentious here, but without a doubt music sounds so much better on vinyl. So what better day to snag some new vinyl than on Record Store Day? Just a few blocks from my apartment is the House of Records and today I am definitely going to try and swing by. Y’all should check out any independent record store near yourselves too!
Also, check out pitchfork.com for more about the holiday!
Quite a decent amount of bands I listen to are fronted by a female vocalist. So many of these woman put their own unique spin on everything, from their voice to their look. And I figured since a few of these wonderful lades below are at Coachella, what better time to share them with y’all ;).

No matter what time of the year it was , my momma would make guacamole if she or anyone else was craving it. Once the temperatures started to rise, though, guacamole  tended to have always made a daily appearance. I was so happy years ago when she finally taught me how to make it, and every since then I’ve been making it for myself, for friends, and for 4th of July BBQs too. What I honestly love so much to about the recipe itself is just how easy it is! 🙂
Ingredients:
2-3 avocados
Lemon juice
Worcestershire Sauce ( I prefer Lea & Perrins)
Picante (I prefer Pace)
Directions:
1. Slice each of your avocados in half. Spoon out the seed and then begin to spoon out the meat of the avocado into a medium sized bowl.
2.With a foley fork, start mashing the avocado a little bit. Don’t use a regular fork as it tends to make things too chunky and also takes a-lot more time.
3. Add however much lemon juice, worcestershire, and picante you like. (As a tip, try not to go too heavy on the lemon juice or the worcestershire as it makes the guacamole a bit too runny).
4. With all your ingredients in your bowl, mash them all together with your foley fork until you get it to where the mixture isn’t too chunky but also doesn’t look like baby food.
By far one of the catchiest songs ever, “Home” just makes any day turn into a better one. I’m definitely needing the pick me up too as the rain just keeps on coming and going and coming here in Oregon.
Hope y’all have a good Monday!

I would love love love to head down south to California for Coachella. If only I wasn’t a college student who needs to be a good student and not skip school to go off and do crazy shenanigans, like going to a music festival. *sigh* Y’all shouldn’t feel that bad for me though, considering how I will make my way down there during the Summer. 😉
However, if I were going to venture down to Indio, below are a some things I’d totally pack!
(Romper: Urban Outfitters; Cropped halter top: Nasty Gal; Bralette: Nasty Gal; Black cutoff shorts: Urban Outfitters; Fringed crossbody bag: Nasty Gal; Sunglasses: Ray Bans; Backpack: Free People; Headband: Free People)
My love for The Smashing Pumpkins was brought on by Summer nights back in Texas, sitting outside with my family, listening to my neighbor blasting their music for all to hear. All my those years living in that house, I could always expect him to play them when the days and nights weren’t too humid.
What are some songs for y’all that bring back childhood memories?
Have a great Monday!
