Wednesday Want: J Crew Signet Bag

Wednesday Want_J Crew Signet Bag

I’ve been looking for a bag for the upcoming Fall/Winter season and I’m loving this new cross body from J Crew. I personally love cross body bags, as they’re very versatile and also travel really well.

What I also love about this bag in particular is its price tag of $128, which is quite reasonable given the fact that it’s made of Italian leather.

Bootie-licious

I’m currently on the hunt for a new bootie and am loving all the ones on sale at Nordstrom for their Anniversary Sale.

The four different pairs pictured above are just the tip of the iceberg as there are so many varieties of boots and booties on sale right now. Needless to say, I’ll definitely be scouring their website here soon for either a taupe-y or olive green bootie, because maybe if I get some new booties come August, the weather will start to get cooler. (Yeah, i know….not too likely but hey, a girl can dream).

To Be Read….

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

As mentioned previously, for the past couple of months I picked up leisurely reading again as a hobby.

For over a month now, I have been re-reading the Harry Potter series with a close girlfriend of mine to reminisce about our childhoods as we anticipate the release of The Cursed Child. While re- reading that particular series, though, I have found time to read other books.

I just finished Gone Girl (and absolutely loved it!!), which has been on my to be read shelf for a couple of weeks now. I am now starting Milk & Honey, a book of poetry by the amazing Rupi Kaur. From the bits that I’ve already read, I can already tell Milk & Honey is going to impact me in such a profound way.

Do y’all have any book recommendations or thoughts on any of the above books?

The Evolution of Hair

From a lob to a buzz cut pixie to having my hair an array of different colors (yay for home color kits that don’t always work) to an undercut to a buzz cut to the current pixie with my semi natural hair coloring (red still likes to peek out every now and then)–my hair has been through a lot.

Recently, I’ve decided to grow out my pixie to a little bit longer length. I’m thinking something around the middle left picture or a little bit shorter. It’s not that I don’t like having a short pixie anymore, I honestly am just wondering what I now would look like with a bit longer hair as it’s been a few years now since it’s been that long.

Luckily the heat down here has been helping with the growth process so let’s hope by Fall i’ll have it at that length again!

P.S. Isn’t it funny seeing how much you’ve changed and matured (even just over a 5 year span) by looking at pictures of your past self?

I hope each and every one of y’all have a day filled with lots of sun, grilling, and fireworks.

I’m personally going to be spending the day by the pool with my family and a close friend who I’ve known for over 10 years now.

Happy 4th y’all!

Comfy and Casual for the 4th

2016 4th of july outfit

Here in Texas, the heat index is hitting the triple digits and there’s (of course) some lingering humidity.

So let’s be realistic, most Texas women (myself included) will not be dressed to the nines this 4th of July. Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone dressed up that much on this particular holiday as that’s just not what happens.

One of the reasons I’ve always loved celebrating the 4th, besides hanging out by the water, the food, and the fireworks, of course, is that it’s such a casual holiday. A holiday that’s really just about relaxing and feeling good as we celebrate our day of independence.

Wishing y’all a happy 4th!
