Light of the Seven

For those who have already seen the latest Game of Thrones episode, here is the music behind the King’s Landing scene that demonstrated just how mad the Cersei has become.

To me, it made the scene a tad bit darker and also gave a sense of foreboding–as if you knew someone’s time was up.

I really hope Ramin Djawadi wins some awards for this amazing composition along with the others that were specifically featured this past season.

P.S. Who loved Cersei’s homage to Tywin and all the black leather he wore with her last outfit? I personally thought it made her appear as a Medieval Sith Lord (with the armor pieces and everything).

P.P.S. How amazing was last night’s episode?! I’m still reeling over it. UGH.

Summer Skin

DSCN0496

For years I used the Clarisonic face wash and mask that went with my Clarisonic Mia 2 brush.

However, with having moved back to the Houston area this past year, I noticed that neither the face wash or mask were working as well as they did when I lived in Oregon. This was due to my skin having changed a little since moving and also because of living in a more humid and polluted environment.

So after noticing this, I did what I do best–I researched dozens of products, read the product testimonies, and even tried a select few to gauge the results for myself. I eventually decided on two Origins products that seemed to combat the acne and oil that my skin deals with during the summer here–the Out of Trouble mask and Zero Oil face wash.

If your skin also breaks out and tends to get quite oily, I fully recommend you try these products. They have been working so well for weeks now, and I love how my skin feels after using them.

Wednesday Want: Obvious State’s Bloom Collection

Obvious State, a New York City-based design studio cofounded by Evan and Nichole Robertson, combines gorgeous patterns with “provocative language and literature”.

Their most recent collection, the Bloom collection, combines quotes from 6 Romantic Period poets (Blake, Byron, Shelley, Keats, Coleridge, and Wordsworth) with beautiful florals. It currently consists of: 8 totes, 2 mugs, a set of bookmarks, 8 prints, and 8 cards.

I personally just ordered the “Harmony” Mug  and the Bloom Bookmark Set (both pictured), and I am happy to say that the price tag of these items are just as wonderful as the items themselves.

Like many cities in New Mexico, Las Cruces is home to some very artistic residents. Whether you’re driving up and down the main drag (Lohman Ave.) or walking around downtown, you’ll generally stumble upon mural after mural after mural.

The city is especially known for its Water Tank Murals, which are painted by Anthony Pennock (and family).

Josefinas of Mesilla

DSCN0455DSCN0458DSCN0459DSCN0462

Josefinas, a cafe and inn located in the town square of Mesilla, NM, is by far one of the most relaxing places I’ve eaten at. I loved the garden area where you can eat outside and how sitting there you can hear the birds chirping and the water flowing from the water feature.

The food is amazing as well. A delicious salad with homemade poppyseed dressing was enjoyed by all as well as quesadillas, chicken salad, and some savory vegetarian open faced enchiladas.

If you’re ever in the souther portion of New Mexico be sure to give this lovely place a try! Not only are the food and atmosphere great, but it’s nestled in such a quaint area of town that y’all will adore.
