Weddings that occur during the day are (in my opinion) the trickiest to dress for, as you never want to go too dressy but also don’t want to don just any sundress (it’s still a special occasion). That’s why going with a dress that has a unique feature such as a pop of color, a ruffled one sleeve, or a cold shoulder works. It isn’t too overpowering for a day wedding but still has some added visual interest.
I don’t know about y’all but I am loving the off the shoulder trend.

Recently, I stumbled upon this amazing jewelry line out of Fort Worth that is called Everlasting Joy Jewelry. All of the items that they sell are not only super cute and versatile but handmade and support the fight against trafficking and slavery.

When I think of gingham I think of pictures of Audrey Hepburn in a blouse and gingham crops riding a bicycle or Brigette Bardot in a gingham dress. Having grown up with a love of 50’s and 60’s icons, I have always had a sweet spot for this pattern.
However, as much of a fan I am of the classics, I am loving the fresh and updated take on gingham that many people are embracing. I even recently purchased this MINKPINK dress, which combines this classic pattern with ruffles and the oh so flirty one shoulder trend. I’m also loving this cold shoulder Amanda Uprichard dress.
The decor for this Airbnb (House on 5th) is ah-ma-zing!
I love love love the mixture of rustic and contemporary styles, as well as the neutral color palette that the homeowners decided to go with. Also, it boasts plenty of room and is walking distance to lots of things in Edmond (an Oklahoma City suburb) and is a short drive away to downtown Oklahoma City.
This Airbnb comes highly recommended, so be sure to check it out whenever you’re in the area!

Growing up in the Southwest, tassels and fringe have always been that little something extra to add to a piece. I’d know, too, when I was back home after a trip once I’d see someone wearing a jacket or a shirt or a pair of boots with some fringe adorning them. It honestly is just something that has always seemed to be a part of that quintessential Southwestern flair when it comes to fashion.
Lately, though, I’ve been seeing it on everyone and everywhere. Â From fringe jeans, tops, sarongs, handbags, sandals, necklaces, earrings, and more. It’s crazy to think how something so commonplace for one person becomes all the rage for another due to a “trend”, but that’s fashion for you.
 I will have to say, this is one trend I will wholeheartedly get behind. (Sorry cold shoulder, still warming up to you. *pun intended*)

I don’t know about y’all, but I’m going to be spending this Friday in a ridiculously stereotypical manner by making tacos and guacamole. Will also more than likely indulge in a Corona or a Pacifico as well because cheers to the weekend, am I right?
Also, I know I’ve posted about Jude Connally before but I am absolutely OBSESSED with the moisture wicking material she uses for her designs. For those who also live in an area where it gets quite warm and humid during the summer months, I highly recommend you check this line out as it is so breathable and easy to wear. This dress in particular is perfect for summer, with it’s turquoise and white (aka one of my favorite color combinations) and it’s halter-like style.

When the majority of the world thinks of Audrey Hepburn they picture LBDs and all the movies that she starred in. I do, too; however, I also picture her in the role she played as a mother, mentor, and humanitarian.
Growing up, I first came to recognize her as a role model not because of the grace she carried herself with or her movies but because of all the work she did outside of the film studio. First and foremost, I learned how Audrey Hepburn was such a caring individual with a really big heart who always felt the need to give to and help others.
So as much as I credit a lot of my style choices due to having her as a role model, I’d also like to think that she taught me lessons on how to be a generous and loving soul.

For me, there’s nothing quite like a tasty salad once the temperatures have started to rise. To be honest, I am even eating a grilled chicken salad that I whipped up myself for dinner as I type this out.
I mean, not only are a lot of salads nowadays super satisfying (take that naysayers), but they can also be really refreshing, which is perfect for this time of year. So if you’re one of those who’ve never seen the appeal of a salad, I highly suggest you trying one of the above.

I can’t believe a quarter of the year has already passed by! Growing up, I always had older people tell me: “oh just you wait until you’re older…time will start flying by!” I honestly never believed them when they would say that, and yet, here I am, wondering where the time went.
2017 has already treated me so well, though, that I won’t complain about how fast it seems to be going by. I was able to take a trip to Seattle and back to my second home of Oregon, spend time exploring new places in my area, and change up my casual wardrobe to represent a more post-grad life ( Side note: This has also resulted in a few more people now asking which college I recently graduated from instead of asking which high school. #shortpeopleproblems? haha).
