John Day Fossil Beds National Monument has got to be one of the most phenomenal places to witness geology. The Painted Hills themselves even seem to be something out of a Star Wars movie with their array of colors.
I was recently lucky enough to do some soil science field work in the area for a few days. Needless to say, I will definitely be back at John Day and at a time where it can be more of a recreational visit.
Oregon geology at it’s finest y’all!
We all know the drill, Easter is here so time to put on some pastels and florals. After a while, though, that routine becomes just that–a routine.
I love the idea of modernizing an Easter outfit with pairing traditional pieces with quirky pieces that give the outfit some flair and edge.
A floral dress may seem stereotypical. Add a chunky navy necklace and gray heels and you’ll make that floral dress feel even fresher and younger. A black and white dress may seem inappropriate for some on Easter, but paired with a feminine blush necklace and ladylike ankle wrap heels you can wear it to brunch and church with the family. Blush dresses are amazing as they act as a neutral and can be paired with anything, but I’d pair it with the geometric white dress, the gray heels, and round sunglasses to make the look more modern than feminine.
Have a great Easter, y’all!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock or have been avoiding the internet for the past month or so, you know that Season 5 of Game of Thrones premieres on April 12th. Two young women that you’ve surely seen either on a magazine or a late night show are Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, who play Sansa and Arya Stark respectively.
It’s no secret that I’m a fan of the show series (though I’m a fan of the book series more for certain characters *cough*) and am currently ecstatic that the show is back. I’m also loving the attention that these two young women are getting as both have great acting chops.
P.S. Does anyone know where I can get Maisie Williams’s dress? Love it!
