I know, I know… My list and I are a bit late. However, I honestly wanted to see if any dresses from this year’s Academy Awards would make my list. And after watching last night’s I just had to add Charlize to the list. Her dress, and overall look, was just so flawless.

My friends and I dressed up and watched the Oscars together (including the Red Carpet). It definitely is now something I want to plan to do every year with them, as my friends and their commentary got me laughing so hard to where I’d almost ruin my nice dress (which is a good and bad thing…).

I hope all of y’all were able to watch the Academy Award’s this year and enjoyed it just as much as I did!

Have a great rest of the week!

Happy Valentines Day and 1 Year!

I started Short Sweet and Lovely on last year’s Valentines Day. Since that day, not only have my posts changed but so have I. Change is inevitable and really, the best thing to do when change comes your way is to try and embrace it.

No matter what you have planned for Valentine’s Day, please try to do something a little different today than what you would normally do. Make something you never have made before–for example, I’m making cheesecake brownies for the special person in my life. Maybe you can watch a cheesy movie you never thought you’d watch. Whatever you decide to do, make it special in your own unique way. Of course, while you’re making it suit your fancy, listen to some amazing music! Below are some of my favorite mushy gushy tunes.

Enjoy the tunes and have a wonderful Valentines Day! Also, thanks to everyone who has stumbled upon my blog throughout the past year! 🙂

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Hairspiration

I’ve always been quite proud of my pixie and how I have the ability to pull off a pixie so well. However, recently I’ve been thinking of growing out my hair a little bit. Lately my hair just hasn’t been exciting me as much as it did in the past, and I would love to be able to do more stylistically with it than I’m able to now. My ideal haircut currently would be at or around my shoulders and with some texture in it, like these lovely ladies.

Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl Sunday is this Sunday and I know many of you are anxious as to what food to have prepared. As sad as I was to see my Texans not make it past the Patriots this year, I still am quite excited to throw a Super Bowl party in my quaint (for a better word) apartment this weekend. Food is one of the most important, if not the most important, aspects behind a Super Bowl party. My mother would always make Seven Layer Dip whenever my dad and I were craving something yummy to snack on. Also, I have always loved Pulled Pork and Pulled Pork Sliders are such a great, individualized way to get that pulled pork I crave! For those that want to get some yummy grub on, while also being healthy, Broccoli Salad is an amazing way to do just that. At the most recent family Christmas party, my aunt made it and not even an hour later was the majority of it gone. And of course–it must all be topped off with coca cola w/salted peanut butter frosting for some southern flair! 😉

Have a wonderful weekend!
