Blessington Farms

I spent this past weekend pretending that Fall actually exists in my area by going out to a pumpkin patch west of Houston with one of my girlfriends, because it’s honestly a bit tough to live near the Gulf Coast and see photos of changing leaves galore all over the internet.

Amazingly enough, though, it actually didn’t start getting warm until about noon (lately it’ll be in the 80s come 9 am), so this little outing ended up being super enjoyable. Also, I picked out a real winner and have already started figuring out what I’m going to carve into her. Hint: it’s going to be a based off of a *magical* series that really impacted my childhood and teen years…and still impacts me today haha

Oh! Also, since having gone out to said pumpkin patch there has been talk of not just one but two cool fronts to come our way down here in the Houston area. Eeeek! I’m so excited for *real* fall weather to come.

Happy Fall!

P.S. Sorry for the iPhone quality photos–I somehow forgot my Nikon at home! :O

Crazy Pumpkin Times

It has become a tradition for the other half and I to go out to Junction City and pick out our Halloween pumpkins at Lone Pine Farms.

This past Saturday, we first went to our town’s local farmers market for some fresh pie, sausage, and squash (pictured at top) and then headed out to Lone Pine.

Unfortunately, the decent weather didn’t last our entire time there but we enjoyed our time as usual before the rains kicked in again. Great thing about my leather Doc Martens is that mud wipes easily off of them.

P.S. This outfit has been on rotation for me these past few weeks as it’s just so comfy and easy to throw on.

There’s nothing that says it’s Fall quite like a pumpkin patch. Lone Pine Farms, less than 30 minutes from where I live, was such a quite place to go pumpkin hunting. Not only do they have a pumpkin patch but also hayrides, a petting zoo, and a playground for the youngsters. The candy apples they sold also looked super delicious as the apples were also from the farm.

I’m honestly just happy that the weather has been cooperating lately and also being absolutely wonderful. Only needing to really wear a sweater and pants is awesome, especially when a jacket is only required for early early morning lectures.

Happy Monday!
