Living Room Gallery Wall Inspiration

In a month or so, my living room couch will finally be here! Y’all I am beyond excited to get started on putting my living room together and truly have my apartment be complete.

One thing that I have been wanting to do is to create a gallery wall behind my couch. Having all these blank white walls in my apartment is definitely making it feel a little less homey than I like and I feel that a gallery wall will help with that.

Of course, in the beginning, I got a little too analytical about it and tried thinking up of a “theme”. After browsing Pinterest, though, I decided that I rather have a quirky gallery wall than one that feels a little too put together.

Here’s to livening my place up a bit!

Fall Quinoa Salad with Butternut Squash and Apples

Now that we are in the full first week of November, it is starting to look and feel like Fall here in Texas. I’m talking days where it doesn’t even reach 80+ degrees and where I can actually wear my booties. I know, it’s crazy talk but it’s happening guys.

So, in celebration of Fall finally showing its face, I have a butternut squash sitting in my kitchen ready to be either roasted, baked, or put in a skillet along with some other yummy things. Personally, I’m thinking of going the skillet butternut squash and sausage penne pasta route but who knows what I’ll do with it later this week.

What are you looking forward to cooking now that the temps are starting to dip again?

Wrapped Up in Color

As the owner of a shamrock green coat myself, I personally attest to the wonders of a statement coat. When it’s cold out people aren’t able to see that really cute dress you have on or what have you, but what they can see is your coat.

Sure, wearing a large piece of bright material can be scary. If that’s the case for you, choose a pastel colored coat or one with an interesting pattern. Just mixing it up from the basic black or grey coat will make you stand out from the crowd.

I mean, isn’t that what fashion is all about–being able to stand out in a crowd?

Lately I’ve been loving the look of a pixie with long bangs and am definitely thinking of growing out my bangs for the colder weather that’s heading my way up here in the NW. Plus, these lovely ladies pull it off so well it’s hard to not want to try to as well!

Now that football season is getting underway, it’ll be time again for a mixture of late nights accompanied with either early or late mornings. Many times, I love to make the other half and I a great brunch so that we can handle the busy game days ahead.

Lately, I’ve been loving leftovers in general and I’d love to incorporate recipes that could yield leftovers into our brunch tradition.

Have a great weekend!
