Current Hair Pin-spiration

Over the past five or so years, I have tried (and failed) to grow out my pixie. However, after my last haircut in mid December, I decided that I (again) want to grow my hair out and preferably to a short bob. I just really hope that my sometimes lack of patience won’t get me again because I really would love to change up my ‘do. Eeek!

Luckily for me, I know how to manage a bob-like hairstyle as I have had one before. The unfortunate part of it is that it has been seven years (see the above photo) since I have last had this hairstyle. Needless to say, I may need to invest in a small straightener and a nice hair dryer again!

Also, I am hearing a variety of things on how best to treat your hair when trying to grow it out. So if y’all have any tips and/or tricks for this, please let me know!

Y’all have a great weekend!

Living Room Gallery Wall Inspiration

In a month or so, my living room couch will finally be here! Y’all I am beyond excited to get started on putting my living room together and truly have my apartment be complete.

One thing that I have been wanting to do is to create a gallery wall behind my couch. Having all these blank white walls in my apartment is definitely making it feel a little less homey than I like and I feel that a gallery wall will help with that.

Of course, in the beginning, I got a little too analytical about it and tried thinking up of a “theme”. After browsing Pinterest, though, I decided that I rather have a quirky gallery wall than one that feels a little too put together.

Here’s to livening my place up a bit!

Lovin’ Right Now: Sweater Details

Sweaters like these, with the coolest details, make me wish that mild temperatures were more common where I live.

Honestly, one week it’s in the 30s and the next it’s in the high 70s. If there ever were a state to be known for it’s ridiculous weather, it’d have to be Texas.

Lovin’ Right Now: Fair Isle Sweaters

I love fair isle sweaters because they are THE perfect sweater for the holiday season and will continue to remain a classic, unlike those sweaters with Rudolph and jingle bells on them. čśë

So for those who are heading to a more casual or cozy holiday party, I totally recommend pairing a fair isle sweater with either a simple mini skirt or some fun jeans. You’ll be cute AND comfy as you sip on some spiced cider. Win win, no?

Fall Quinoa Salad with Butternut Squash and Apples

Now that we are in the full first week of November, it is starting to look and feel like Fall here in Texas. I’m talking days where it doesn’t even reach 80+ degrees and where I can actually wear my booties. I know, it’s crazy talk but it’s happening guys.

So, in celebration of Fall finally showing its face, I have a butternut squash sitting in my kitchen ready to be either roasted, baked, or put in a skillet along with some other yummy things. Personally, I’m thinking of going the skillet butternut squash and sausage penne pasta route but who knows what I’ll do with it later this week.

What are you looking forward to cooking now that the temps are starting to dip again?

Style to Admire: Amal Clooney

Taking timeless patterns and silhouettes and modernizing them seems to be the name of the game for Amal Clooney’s style.

I love how long knitwear even looks chic paired with tennis shoes and a satchel by having the pieces be neutral only in color.  The polka dot peplum look, though, is my favorite by far of course. Such a modern silhouette to use when pairing with a classic pattern.

Style to Admire: Jamie Chung

Jamie Chung’s (actress and blogger)┬ápersonal style is nothing short of amazing.

From vintage inspired looks consisting of knee high boots and a medallion print miniskirt to casual looks that balance a chunky knit and leather leggings, Chung always seems to get it right. I also love the white on white ensemble, as so many are afraid of wearing white during Winter.
