Diane Young

Their new single from the latest album, Modern Vampires of the City, “Diane Young” is by far one of my favorite songs currently. It has been said that Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig wrote this particular song, and many others on the album, centered around the idea of old age. The title of this particular song is supposed to be related to “dying young”, which when you say the title fast enough is what it sounds like it. As upbeat as the sock hop-esque beats in the song are, the meaning behind the lyrics and the title itself is cryptic and also ironic in contrast to the upbeat nature of “Diane Young”.

Y’all have a great Monday!
